Clara Shih joins Meta to lead new business ai division

Meta has appointed Salesforce AI CEO Clara Shih to lead its newly established Business AI division, focusing on developing artificial intelligence tools tailored for businesses.

Sharing her excitement on LinkedIn, Clara Shih stated:
“I’m thrilled to announce that I have joined Meta to lead a new Business AI group. Our vision for this product line is to make cutting-edge AI accessible to every business, empowering everyone to thrive and take charge of their future in the AI era.”

Shih also highlighted Meta’s vast global reach and leadership in AI as a unique opportunity for businesses, adding:

Clara Shih’s Career Highlights
Born in Hong Kong, Clara Shih moved to the United States with her family at the age of four. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science and Economics from Stanford University and later pursued a master’s in Internet Studies at Oxford University.

Shih began her career as a program manager at Microsoft and Google before joining Salesforce in 2006, where she played a pivotal role in developing the AppExchange platform. During this time, she also pioneered the integration of social media and CRM systems by creating the Faceforce application for Facebook.

In 2009, Shih founded Hearsay Systems, a company specializing in digital customer engagement solutions for the financial services industry, where she served as CEO for many years. She later joined Starbucks’ board of directors while continuing to oversee Hearsay Systems, which was acquired by Yext for $125 million in 2024.

After returning to Salesforce in 2020, Shih spent four years advancing AI innovations before embarking on her new journey at Meta.
